Hi, I’m Marjourie Mayorga, MSN, PMHNP-BC — a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and the founder of Camina Mental Health. I created this practice to offer a more human, inclusive, and accessible approach to mental health care — especially for those who often feel overlooked or misunderstood.
I’m a bilingual provider (English & Spanish) and an immigrant who understands what it’s like to navigate life between cultures. As a woman of color and a member of multiple underrepresented communities, I bring a deep sense of empathy, openness, and lived experience into my work. These parts of my identity shape how I show up for my patients — with cultural humility, respect, and a strong belief in meeting people where they are.
I bring over 15 years of nursing experience in psychiatric care, including intensive care psychiatry, addiction and medical detox, and crisis response. I’ve worked with individuals in high-acuity settings, participated in LPS evaluations, and served as a member of a crisis team, helping patients navigate some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. These roles deepened my commitment to compassionate, evidence-based mental health care — and showed me firsthand the importance of accessible and culturally informed services.
In addition to my clinical practice, I’ve also served as a clinical nursing instructor, helping train and mentor registered nursing students. Teaching has strengthened my dedication to patient education and reinforced the value of clear, respectful communication — values that guide every patient interaction at Camina Mental Health.
At Camina, I offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy — always grounded in science and centered around your goals. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, and I strive to create a safe space for all individuals, including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
I’m licensed to provide psychiatric services in California, currently offering care via telehealth to ensure accessibility, privacy, and flexibility.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to care for your mental health in a new way, I’m here to support you — with compassion, curiosity, and care that honors your story.
